RefWorks

RefWorks is a web-based citation manager you can use wherever you have an internet connection. It gives you an online workspace to save citations you find while doing research. RefWorks also provides users with tools that you can use to format papers.

RefWorks Deduplication Manual for Systematic Reviews

This Manual was created by information specialist, Kelsey Koym, at the Texas Medical Center Library. It is a tool to be used within RefWorks to deduplicate results for a systematic review. Please watch the video above and read the preliminary notes in the Manual before deduplicating in RefWorks. 

Removing Duplicate References

1. Click on Tools and select Find Duplicates.

2. Select Exact Duplicates and click on Find Duplicates.
 



 

3. If duplicates are found, they are highlighted and pre-select to make it easy to delete.

 

Note: You can also select "Close Match" to analyze duplicates that have some formatting differences that are not captured by the "Exact Match" function.
