Starting in 2025, the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is adopting a Subscribe to Open (S2O) subscription model for its six primary research journals. Under S2O, the accessibility of ASM's previously subscriber-only content depends on continued support from subscribers. Authors at subscribing institutions will receive guaranteed open access publishing in one of the following journals regardless of whether the sustainability target is met:
The TMC Library subscribes to the ASM Journals S2O package. Corresponding authors from affiliated institutions automatically receive an 25% discount on page charges. This includes: UT Health, Baylor College of Medicine, Prairie View A&M College of Nursing, Texas Southern University, College of Pharmacy and Health Science, Houston Community College - Coleman Campus, and UT MD Anderson. ASM members receive an additional discount.
