The American Physiological Society (APS) has adopted the Subscribe to Open (S2O) model for its 10 primary research journals.

Every year APS receives enough subscription support to transition to S2O, authors don’t pay any article processing charges (APCs) for accepted articles for that subscription year and those articles will be published open access.

If any of the APS journals do not meet a subscription threshold, they remain gated, with continued access for paying subscribers. Any articles published open access will be forever open and not gated.

All pre-submission or general editorial questions should be directed to each journal's Editor-in-Chief or Staff Technical Editor assigned to the journal in question.

Corresponding authors currently affiliated with academic institutions served by the Texas Medical Center Library are eligible for the benefit. This includes: UT Health, Baylor College of Medicine, Prairie View A&M College of Nursing, Texas Southern University, College of Pharmacy and Health Science, Houston Community College - Coleman Campus, and UT MD Anderson

Getting Started: Local authors should begin at the Author Information page.
