Importing from CINAHL

Import citations directly from CINAHL! Here's how:

  1. From the page of the reference you want to import into Refworks, click Share. 


     
  2. Click on Results to add to your folder.​


     
  3. Locate the Folder at the top right side of the page and click on it.


     
  4. There are two ways to select the citation(s) you wish to import.
    - Select all citations by clicking on Select All 
    - Select the citation(s) by clicking on the box next to the number of the citation



     
  5. Click on Export.


     
  6. Select Direct Export in RIS Format and click Save


     
  7. Download and save your .RIS file.
     
  8. Log into your RefWorks account and click on References, then select Import.  



  9. Select RIS Format as your Import Filter/Data Source and RIS Format as your database. Then select your file and click on Import.

           ** You do not need to import into a folder, but it is recommended to help keep your citations organized and easy to find. **
